| Me in October '09, at my heaviest ever |
I gained a lot of weight when I was pregnant with my son, and was beginning to feel like I would never be able to lose it. I lost 25lbs after his birth but the scale refused to budge after that. By this point, my BMI was still in the "Very Obese" category and I was beginning to be concerned about my health. I looked at my son and knew that no matter what, I had to lose the weight so that I could live to see him grow up.
As I'm sure those of you with small children know, time is a luxury when you've got a baby in the house! I just didn't have the time to be shopping for, and preparing healthy meals. I barely had time to sleep and shower! Most of the time, I wound up eating frozen convenience food from the grocery store or else we ordered takeout. This had to stop or I was going to wind up gaining even more weight.
In January, I saw the ads for Nutrisystem come on TV. The food looked good in the commercials but I'm always skeptical of the way things are presented. I read some reviews online and I was a little worried about all the people who talked about how gross it was. Then I read about Nutrisystem's money back guarantee- if you try the food and don't like it, you can send your box back for a full refund, less shipping and handling. So I figured that I could order it and try it for myself with no risk attached.

In December 2010, I was contacted by Nutrisystem and asked to become part of the Nutrisystem Canada Blogger program. In return for writing at least weekly in my blog about my honest experiences with Nutrisystem, I was provided with 5 months' worth of meals from the Nutrisystem plan. My posts contain my opinions and feedback about the program, are not edited or approved by anyone, and I am not compensated for writing them. As of June 2011, I finished my commitment to the Nutrisystem Blogger Program and I am writing independently again.
