This is my journey to become a healthier me. It began on January 26, 2010 and stalled out... I got a type 2 diabetes diagnosis on March 30, 2022 and started to focus on my health again. On November 8, 2022 I added Ozempic to my toolbox to help me shed some pounds and inches!

Support Stomach Rumblings!

Thank you so much to those of you who have asked how you can support Stomach Rumblings. I've been writing this blog off and on for over 12 years, and I appreciate those readers who have been following my journey over this time! I hope my writings have been as helpful to you as creating them has been for me.

One of the best ways you can support my blog without spending a dime is to comment on my posts. Let me know what you like and don't like about the content I'm posting. While writing these posts helps me work out my own thoughts and share my journey, like any writer, I enjoy hearing from my readers.

Secondly, you could help me expand my readership. If you like one of my recipes or posts, please do share my links or Instagram elsewhere! The more readers and followers I have, the more likely I'll be able to get some more cool giveaway items for my readers again like I was able to back in 2010 when I had a wide readership.

So I am definitely appreciative of support that costs you nothing! That being said, if you'd like to send me a small gift, I do have a wish list on Amazon full of healthy portable snacks and fitness accessories that I could definitely use! Perhaps you can get some ideas from my list that would be helpful on your weight loss journey as well!

You can also use my referral links, which would be very helpful for me as it doesn't cost you anything extra, and I'll get a small thank you from the company if you order using my links.

Referrals:

Leslie Sansone Walk at Home app. You get a 7 day free trial to see if you like it before you get charged, and after that it's only $8.99 CAD per month. I am finding this app to be super helpful because there are both cardio and strength training workouts, and the videos can be as short as 5 minutes or as long as 75 minutes- you choose how long works for you. Each month they post a beginners' calendar and a more challenging calendar to give you some ideas of what to work on, but you can also just search the catalogue and find something that appeals to you- you don't have to follow the schedule. Do as much or as little as you like! This has definitely improved my fitness!

HealthyWage. If you've been doing well at your weight loss, why not make some money at it and put it towards some new clothes that will help you look as awesome as you feel? This site is totally legit; basically, you decide how long you want to take to lose weight (minimum 6 months), how much weight you want to lose (minimum 10% of your starting body weight), and how much you'd like to bet per month (minimum $200 total bet over your whole wager, NOT per month). You can play around with the calculator to see what gives you the best payout- I was surprised to see that adding more time gave me more of a prize even with the same size bet. You don't have to bet that you'll lose it all at once- you can make a smaller bet (as long as it's at least 10% of your starting weight) and then make another bet after you win! I placed my bet in March and said I would lose 30lbs in 8 months, which is less than a pound per week. I really wanted to be sure that I'd win! I'm feeling now that I was a bit too conservative because I'm only 10lbs away from my goal and I have until November to lose it, but at least I know I'll win! If you sign up through my referral link and make a bet, you'll get an extra $40 added to your prize pool!

Chef Cook It. This company is Montreal based, and they try to focus on locally sourced ingredients. They also have quite a large selection each week of vegetarian and vegan meals. While they do offer "standard" meal kits like the other companies, they do also offer premade meals if you're looking for healthier grab n go options. I find they make great lunches! You can also mix and match the ready-to-eat meals with the meal kits you cook yourself, any combination that you like! Use my promo code SUSANK270 to receive 50% off your first order of any size- they don't limit it the way other companies do!

Hellofresh. This meal box company has the most diverse weekly selection of any meal kit service that I've seen. They offer calorie wise, carb wise, and vegetarian/vegan meals as well. You can use my referral link to receive your first box of 3 meals with 4 portions completely FREE, pay only the shipping fee. They do offer some premium meals with a surcharge, and those are clearly marked.

Goodfood. This is another Canadian company, and they tend to offer not only the most interesting menu choices, but also the highest quality. They send better ingredients, such as fresh pasta vs dried, and use a more varied range of vegetables and proteins so it's not always the same old same old. They also offer vegetarian meals, as well as keto options. Additionally, they have some easy prep meals where all the slicing and dicing is done for you and it's easy to throw a tasty meal together quickly. You can even add pantry items to your grocery basket at a reasonable price. If you use my referral link, you'll save $100 on your first three orders!

Chef's Plate. This service is a sister company to Hellofresh, so expect much of the same type of options. They do have a slightly smaller menu, but occasionally they really hit a meal out of the park and we find ourselves making it over and over. You'll get an $80 discount on your order using my referral code, so it's definitely worth trying even if you don't find it to be a long term favourite.

Instacart. If you haven't tried this service yet, it's a great way to get your hands on some healthy snacks and pantry items if you don't feel like going out. Even if you prefer to do your own shopping, you can score some free food by using my referral link and saving $40 off your order! Well worth it if you are having a tired day.

DoorDash. I don't rule out takeout because there's always good options available, but I tend to limit it because of the salt and expense. That being said, if you use my referral link you'll save $45 off your first three orders (min order $20) so it's definitely one to tuck in your pocket for emergencies!

Uber Eats. Similarly, I'm not loyal to one delivery company, as you can see- I'll order from wherever has what I want at the best price. If you use my referral code eats-ianm65xui, you'll save $10 off your order, so that's money back in your pocket!

Thanks so much everyone- I really do appreciate any form of support from my readers! <3
