This is my journey to become a healthier me. It began on January 26, 2010 and stalled out... I got a type 2 diabetes diagnosis on March 30, 2022 and started to focus on my health again. On November 8, 2022 I added Ozempic to my toolbox to help me shed some pounds and inches!

New Year's Resolutions

Well, another year is coming to an end. Where did 2010 go? It feels like just a few short weeks ago that I had a little baby who couldn't even roll over, and now I have a toddler who chatters away!

I was also still wearing maternity clothes then. Just for the heck of it, I put on some of them the other day. It was a real confidence booster to see them just hanging off me. I know the number on the scale has changed, but when I don't think of myself differently (I still see myself as fat and my body doesn't look that changed to me, even if it does to everyone else), it's nice to have a reminder.

So as usual at this time of year, a frequent topic of conversation is New Year's resolutions. I'll be the odd one out I suppose by saying that I don't really believe in them. Honestly, I've never kept one for longer than a few weeks and I don't know anyone else who has, either. It feels to me like New Year's Resolutions are an excuse to pretend that you want to change something you aren't really ready to change. If you were really ready to change it, you wouldn't need to wait for an arbitrary day- you'd just DO it.

What were you thinking of resolving this year? Is it something you really want to do, or is it just a gesture you're not ready to make a commitment for yet? Why not start today? If you really want to do it, you will. You can do anything you put your mind to, so go ahead and get started!

I also want to lose a half a stone/7lb's approximately. But I've wanted to do that for around 5 years now and it won't shift. Issue with me is that I avoid exercise because I HATE it. My own fault. I eat well and little - but thats not enough after 35 yrs I'm afraid. ;( Shah. X
